In my previous post, I outlined my resolutions for 2018. Each month, I’ll be breaking them down into manageable action steps. This month I’m setting out to accomplish the following goals:
- Meditate daily. I’ve been doing this consistently since I purchased an annual subscription to Headspace at the end of December, and already it’s helping me be more aware of my emotions throughout the day. I intend to continue meditating daily through January to see where it leads.
- Add more healthy foods to my diet. I won’t be keeping a food diary yet – that’s a goal for February! Instead, this month I will be adding healthier foods to my diet – more greens, more fruit, more whole grains and seeds – more things that I know will make me glow from the inside out.
- Work out at least four days each week. I’m at a dangerous moment in my fitness journey right now – not only are we going through an extreme cold snap here in Ontario that makes running outside an extremely unattractive proposition, but I also had to give up my weekly personal training session for financial reasons (I may be going back to school this year). The big challenge for me is keeping myself motivated. Now that I am a Pound Pro, I have lots of incentive to practice my choreography so that I can teach my first class. I will also be attending a Pound class every Tuesday, as well as my usual adult ballet class on Friday evenings. I’m also going to try to add some yoga to my workout routine by following Yoga with Adriene’s 30-day “True” challenge. With any luck, these activities will get me through the January slump.
And those are my goals for this month! Simply stated, perhaps not so simple to execute, but I have faith that even if I fall of the wagon, I can get right back up there and keep going.
Bundle up, it’s cold out there!
