Yikes.
Over the past few months, I fell off the healthy living wagon pretty hard. I had so much to do with work and study that I had trouble staying on top of everything. I can’t remember the last time I cooked a healthy meal for myself. And making time for workouts? Forget about it.
It feels pretty scary to have worked so hard towards my health and fitness goals, only to completely lose focus when life got hectic. Now that things are starting to slow down a bit, it’s time to reflect back on the past few months. Did I fail? Did all those months of incremental progress go to waste? How can I move forward?
The answer to the first two questions is a big “No!”. The only way you can fail is if you stop trying. I see a quote kicking around Pinterest all the time that says “You never lose. You win or you learn.” I’m calling this a learning experience.
As for the second question on how to move forward, the answer is simple: one step at a time.
Stuff happens. Life happens. In the short-term rush to get the next urgent task done, we can sometimes lose sight of the bigger picture. That’s not a crime; that’s being human.
Over the next few weeks, I’ll be picking my blog back up where I left off. I’ll be reintroducing healthier eating habits and getting back into a workout routine. And I won’t spend a single moment worrying about what I didn’t do over the past few months. I worked hard, studied hard, and accomplished a lot in other areas of my life. Now it’s time to bring the focus back on my health and well-being.
Onward and upward.
