Recently, I’ve felt like I’ve been in a bit of a slump blogging-wise. I was busy with work and study commitments, and I let Musing on Losing fall by the wayside. I decided I needed a bit of extra motivation, so I got in my car and headed to London for some much-needed face-to-face time with other bloggers and entrepreneurs.
On Saturday, I attended the Blogging Brunch, hosted by Jenn of Something Simple. It was so motivational to meet up with other people who share a common interest. We attended workshops on photography, creating a content calendar, and more! We also had a Q&A session with the amazing Britt Havens, a successful lifestyle blogger and entrepreneur. Attending these sessions made me realize that being a blogger is not an unattainable dream – instead, it’s about planning, consistency, and old-fashioned hard work. Be real, honest, and consistent, and you can make your blogging dreams a reality. I am so grateful to Jenn, Britt, and all the amazing ladies I met at the brunch who motivated me to keep moving forward.
We’re in the middle of a heat wave here in Southern Ontario, so naturally, I used the hot weather as an excuse to finally wear this gorgeous maxi dress. I’m pretty shy at being in front of the camera, but the awesome Amy Blake of Surviving the Middle was kind enough to take this photo for me. I have to get more comfortable in front of the lens if I want to be a serious blogger. So here’s my first attempt at a legitimate blog photo. 🙂
Onwards and upwards!
