Summer Staple: The Kimono

August 29, 2019 By Annette

Kimono: Lost in Layers

There’s no easier way to dress up an outfit than to throw on a kimono and call it a day.

This embroidered kimono is made in Canada by Lost in Layers, a small business based in Calgary, Alberta. It’s the prettiest thing. You can find it on their website here (I’m wearing the short version.)

Always a good idea.

This kimono is beautifully designed. It drapes beautifully and feels great on. The back of the kimono has a beautiful ribbon detail at the neckline – the back is cut into a deeper v and the kimono halves are connected at the top with a strip of ribbon. Sadly I don’t have any photos from the back, but you can see it on their website.

Lost in Layers is ethical, sustainable, and size inclusive, which is totally my jam. There are lots of fast-fashion kimonos out there, but this is one that will last the test of time. I feel amazing every time I put it on. And shouldn’t all of our clothing make us feel like that? 🙂

Have an amazing day!

xo, Annette
